★★★★★ Dabao at the Metreon is a fantastic hidden gem tucked inside the food court. The food captures the bold, authentic flavors of Filipino street food—comforting, flavorful, and satisfying without trying to overcomplicate things. Service is impressively fast, making it an easy stop even when you’re short on time. Authentic flavors, quick service, and a great find in an unexpected setting. Definitely worth seeking out!

I was tricked! This store is called Dabao Singapore, specialty includes Hainan chicken claiming to be Singapore Hawker style food. Nothing of the sort! The food is so bland. I asked for the ginger sauce and it wasn’t made of ginger at all. I just returned from Singapore and the food is definitely NOT Singapore Hainan chicken. I also had the chicken katsu and again very bland and tasteless. Yes, I am very particular about my food and I expected to taste the same if you claimed to be so. I’m so disappointed 😢. What a waste of food and money.

It is my second time here in over a year and am happy to know that Singaporean food is still available in the building. As a Singaporean myself living in the Bay, I know how hard it is to find food from home and one that is done well. I do have mixed feelings about the taste but I believe it’s because I know what it should taste like. I still eat it because it’s available, tastes good (enough), and appreciate the effort the owner does to bring our food abroad as authentically as possible. For starters, I’m glad that the laksa broth tastes more flavorful this time and that there was a good amount of tofu, fishcake, prawns and of course hard boiled egg. The last time I feedback verbally that it needed a lot more salt but was told a restrained approach was taken to make it more healthy. I know from the many reviews that I was not the only one who felt salt was needed to bring out laksa’s rich flavors. Having said that, I still needed to put a little more salt myself this time but maybe it was a personal preference. The noodles were overcooked though and I could not taste much of the coconut milk either and wondered if an alternative like evaporated milk was used instead (I hope not

Quick and super tasty. Great way to try food from Singapore. From the seafood soup to a vegan soup, it is fresh and flavorful. The team is super friendly and great at explaining the menu. It’s in the middle of a food court. Nice escape from the bustle outside.

Dabao is easily at the top of my go-to restaurant list. Every visit feels like pure comfort. I absolutely love the Nasi Lemak with fried chicken and the Seafood Laksa — I’ve ordered them countless times, and they still make me ridiculously happy. More than once, I’ve wanted to text my friends mid-meal just to tell them how amazing the food is. The fried chicken is perfection — crispy, juicy, and deeply satisfying. And the laksa broth? Rich, fragrant, and comforting with every single sip. If you see the seasonal chili crab on the menu, don’t miss it. It’s a must-try while it’s in season. Beyond the incredible food, the staff are genuinely warm and welcoming, especially Nang - always with bright smile! It makes the whole experience even better! Thank you for bringing such authentic, delicious Singaporean flavors to us. I truly hope Dabao stays around for a long, long time. I’ll definitely keep coming back.
